A massage or acupuncture every week would be wonderful, yes? For most of us, that is not a possibility. But what if we could give ourselves self-acupuncture and self-massage when and where we need it? Let me introduce you to a class that teaches us how to do just that. Yin Yoga 5:00-6:30PM Monday evenings at Wisdom Flow Studio. Taught by Heidi Saufferer – artist, supermom, and super chill yoga teacher. Each class closes with a 10 minute crystal bowl sound bath meditation.

Yin yoga is characterized by holding yogic postures for several minutes. Generally we will hold poses for 1-2 minutes. In class, we pay careful attention to proper postural alignment & prop usage. Beyond the physical, we also focus our attention on working with the energy and tension often revealed in long held stillness. Each class will aim to target an area of the body while still honoring wholistic needs of the entire body. All levels are welcome.
Yin Yoga is specifically designed to work on our connective tissue. Connective tissue – or fascia – is what holds us together. It is a net that suspends our organs – a high-tech adhesive that holds our cells in place while relaying messages between them. In a 90-minute yin yoga class you can re-set your inner-network of connective tissue to allow deep muscle release, and release of neurological holding patterns. It is very much like getting a massage and acupuncture treatment. Yin Yoga will leave you feeling calm, rejuvenated, more flexible and better grounded to begin a new week.
