What is Kaiut Yoga?
Kaiut Yoga is a perfect entryway for anyone who’s felt intrigued by yoga but has been hesitant to explore. This gentle method is designed to target the rigidity within our bodies and encourages a release of tensions. Whether you’re a parent with a 9 to 5 job, an athlete with a persistent injury, or a yogi looking to reconnect with the foundation of yoga – Kaiut Yoga offers a respite from the stresses of the modern world and teaches you to focus on the now, and awaken your body’s awareness.
Sometimes called floor yoga, Kaiut is usually done by laying your back on the floor. Nothing in Kaiut Yoga is extreme; it consists of subtle movements and prolonged positions. This allows for both time and gravity to work in our favor. Individualized guidance and adjustments are constant throughout class. Students can feel confident that they will be supported in their practice despite any injuries, chronic conditions, blockages, joint replacements, etc. There is no expectation, nor any ‘perfect pose’ to be achieved.
Kaiut Yoga is a methodology that places emphasis on joint health and encourages optimum mobility. As we grow older, it is important for us to form good physical habits that can counteract and neutralize the effects of aging within our bodies. A practice for people of all ages. Nurture your own freedom of movement and join us for class each Tuesday Evening 5-6:15PM with Kate Newell at Wisdom Flow Yoga Studios in Makawao/Pukalani.
