Today’s modern world sees the prevalence of a more sedentary lifestyle. For the body to properly function, be healthy and to prevent injuries we need a strong kinetic chain. This implies that we need to strengthen not only the primary movers (muscles responsible for movement) but also the stabilizers. Along with strength the body need flexibility. When performing strength exercises, flexibility and stability are critical in the prevention of injuries.
Fitness Fusion aims at offering a class that addresses all the need of a healthy physical activity by combining workouts with calisthenics and Yoga. The class doesn’t intend to be a yoga class but rather use Yoga to balance, complement the exercise routine and emphasize a mind-body connection.
Fitness Fusion is a combination of traditional yoga poses with another form of fitness, such as Pilates or body-weight training. This blending of techniques uses a whole body approach to work at a physical level as well as a mental level. Fitness Fusion is a fitness oriented class that offers a balance between yoga and workout. This unique combination allows to stretch the muscles that are worked during the strengthening and emphasizes a mind-body awareness. The practice of Yoga improves stability and flexibility, two aspects that are necessary when doing a workout
The class starts with a brief warm-up, followed by strength training. Participants then move to a centering practice with classical yoga postures that will help integrate strength, balance and flexibility.
